The decision to allow Elfeta Veseli, who was finally convicted of the brutal murder of twelve-year-old Slobodan Stojanović, to benefit from privileges outside the correctional facility represents a profound insult and humiliation to the entire Serbian people, President of Republika Srpska Siniša Karan said.
“When Veseli, convicted of the brutal murder of young Slobodan, is granted privileges, it sends an unacceptable and disgraceful message about the treatment of Serbian victims and exposes the way the grotesque judicial apparatus of Bosnia and Herzegovina operates. While there is neither justice nor answers for Serbian victims, the killer of a Serbian child is rewarded,” Karan told Srna.
Karan said that decisions such as the one granting privileges to Elfeta Veseli confirm what he described as the unjust treatment of Serbian victims and the privileged status afforded to their executioners.
He added that crimes committed against Serbs, including the mass killings of the Serbian population in Birač and the Middle Drina region, as well as other grave crimes and suffering, continue to remain without a judicial resolution.
