According to data released by the Institute of Statistics of Republika Srpska, exports from Republika Srpska from January to April 2026 reached 1.704 billion KM, representing a decrease of 0.8 percent compared to the same period last year.
Imports during the same period totaled 2.573 billion KM, which is 4.1 percent higher than in 2025, while export coverage of imports stood at 66.2 percent.
In April alone, exports amounted to 457 million KM, down 2 percent year-on-year, while imports reached 678 million KM, an increase of 6.6 percent compared to April last year.
The largest export market during the first four months was Serbia with exports worth 315 million KM, followed by Croatia with 287 million KM.
At the same time, Republika Srpska imported the most goods from Serbia, worth 407 million KM, and from Italy with imports valued at 385 million KM.
The report also noted a decline in industrial production. Seasonally adjusted industrial output in April was 3.3 percent lower compared to March, while calendar-adjusted industrial production fell by 13.2 percent year-on-year.
For the January–April period, industrial production was down 10.2 percent compared to the same period in 2025.
Employment in the industrial sector also declined, with the number of industrial workers in April falling by 1.7 percent compared to March and by 3.3 percent compared to the 2025 average.
