Knjazevsko-Srpski Theatre from Kragujevac and National Theatre East Sarajevo officially signed a cooperation agreement, establishing collaboration between Serbia’s oldest theatre and Republika Srpska’s youngest theatre institution.
Director of Knjazevsko-Srpski Theatre Aleksandar Štajn said the agreement aims to connect the two theatres through exchanges of performances, joint projects, workshops and professional cooperation.
According to Štajn, the repertoire of the East Sarajevo theatre deserves to be presented to audiences in Kragujevac, while the Serbian theatre also plans guest performances in East Sarajevo.
He also announced the possibility that the Kragujevac ensemble could participate this December at the Festival of Small Stages and Monodrama in East Sarajevo with the play Alone With Everyone.
Štajn invited the National Theatre East Sarajevo to take part in the regional festivals “Joakimovi Dani” and “Joakim Fest,” emphasizing that Knjazevsko-Srpski Theatre celebrated 190 years of existence last year and maintains active cooperation with theatres across the region.
Director of the National Theatre East Sarajevo Jelena Krstić highlighted that mutual support, artistic exchange and friendship between the two institutions would be the foundation of future cooperation.
