Serb member of the BiH Presidency Željka Cvijanović extended Passover greetings to Jews in Republika Srpska and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
She expressed hope that this holiday of hope, salvation, and spiritual renewal will serve as a strong incentive for greater understanding, respect, and tolerance.
- On the occasion of the great Jewish holiday of Passover, I extend my sincere and warmest congratulations and wish you peaceful, happy, and spiritually joyful festive days – Cvijanović stated in her message to Jewish communities and members of the Jewish community in Republika Srpska and BiH.
She also wished that the spirit of freedom and renewal, symbolized by Passover, enrich their lives, bring happiness and well-being, and remind everyone of the importance of preserving tradition and shared values, the BiH Presidency said.
Passover symbolizes freedom, recounting and passing down through generations the story of the liberation and exodus of the Jews from Egyptian slavery under the leadership of Moses, as described in the Book of Exodus in the Torah.
