It has been 22 years since the brutal crime committed by members of the then SFOR, who nearly beat to death Orthodox priest Father Jeremija Starovlah and his son Aleksandar, a religious education teacher, in Pale. As a result of the injuries he sustained, Aleksandar was left 100 percent disabled.
The perpetrators, members of the then SFOR, have never been brought to justice for this crime.
SFOR members transported Aleksandar and Jeremija, severely injured and unconscious, by helicopter to the Clinical Center in Tuzla, where they received emergency medical treatment. They later continued treatment at the Military Medical Academy in Belgrade, followed by rehabilitation in specialized centers.
