Less than four weeks remain until the DDays conference, which will be held this year on April 23 in Banja Luka under the title “Finance 4.0 – current trends and challenges in the financial sector of Southeast Europe,” and the list of relevant participants is growing day by day.
The conference is being organized for the sixth time by BAM Consult Banjaluka, with the support of institutional partners—the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Banking Agency of Republika Srpska, and the Association of Banks of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
A combination of lectures and expert panels will open discussions on key topics shaping the financial sector in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the region.
One of the central topics will be Bosnia and Herzegovina’s accession to the Single Euro Payments Area (SEPA), which will affect the stability of the payment system and reduce the cost of cross-border transactions.
“SEPA is more than a payment system—it is a step closer to the European economic area. The Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina is actively working on aligning domestic regulations with EU standards. With the adoption of the remaining laws at the entity and state levels, Bosnia and Herzegovina could soon submit an official application for SEPA membership,” said Jasmina Selimović, Governor of the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina, ahead of DDays.
In addition to SEPA, the Director of the Banking Agency of Republika Srpska, Srđan Šuput, said that DDays will also open discussions on other important issues, such as amendments to regulations in the field of payment services.
“We will discuss regulation and the digitalization of the financial sector, bancassurance, and other important topics. We will bring together outstanding panelists—regulators, representatives of banks, the microcredit sector, leasing companies, and electronic money issuers. This is something Republika Srpska and Bosnia and Herzegovina need, and we have proudly been an institutional partner of the DDays conference for four years,” Šuput said.
Among the conference partners is also Visa, whose Vice President and General Manager for Southeast Europe, Ana Drašković, will deliver a lecture titled “Innovation at the heart of payments: How Visa is leading the transformation of the payments industry.”
DDays is a one-day conference, and this year it will be held on the Stara Ada island in Banja Luka. More information about the program and participants is available on the official conference website https://digitalnakonferencija.ba/.
