During her visit to the United States, Serb member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Željka Cvijanović met in Washington, D.C. with representatives of influential Jewish organizations: B’nai B’rith International represented by Rabbi Eric Fusfield, the American Jewish Committee represented by Rabbi Andrew Baker, and the National Coalition Supporting Eurasian Jewry represented by Mark Levin.
During the meeting, she emphasized that Republika Srpska and Israel—just like the Serb and Jewish peoples—are connected by traditional bonds of friendship, expressing satisfaction with the strong cooperation with Jewish organizations in the United States.
“I pointed out the civilizational obligation of a joint fight against antisemitism, as well as all forms of extremism. On this occasion, I informed my interlocutors about the current political situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the efforts of Republika Srpska to protect its constitutional rights. I emphasized that it is high time for Bosnia and Herzegovina to reject foreign interventionism and return to the Constitution, the constituent peoples, and domestic institutions at all levels of government,” Cvijanović wrote on Instagram.
The meeting was also attended by Serb delegate to the House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina Radovan Kovačević.
