Flynn: As an American, I do not like the European Union

U.S. General and former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn said that, as an American, he does not like the European Union, describing it as a structure led by what he called “arrogant bureaucrats.”

Speaking at a lecture held at the headquarters of the Government of Republika Srpska in Banja Luka, Flynn stated:

“We are not fans of the EU. They make decisions that affect a significant part of the world. They represent around 300 million people. Many do not agree with those decisions. People pay high taxes and are expected to bow to them.”

He argued that the EU adopts decisions that influence people’s lives broadly and said a new model of cooperation and decision-making is needed.

“They make decisions about your lives, about the people in this room. Who gives them that right, and what are they truly accountable to? I’m speaking from the heart. What the American people do not like is that kind of corruption,” Flynn said.

He added that European nations need decisive leadership and noted that the United States is currently in tense relations with certain countries.

“I’m not speaking only about Iran. I pray that everything turns out well. We cannot continue down a path where decisions are made by those who were not elected. We must seek new political models and ideas. Otherwise, we will remain in constant conflict,” Flynn concluded.
