Economic diplomacy expert Siniša Pepić told RTRS that Republika Srpska has recognized global shifts, launched a diplomatic offensive, and that its voice is now finally being heard internationally.
Pepić said this is the result of sustained work by international relations teams at the Palace of the Republic and the Office of the Serb member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Messages that Republika Srpska had been sending for years are now being heard, after previously being ignored or sidelined by mainstream media and international power centers.
Regarding international economic engagement, Pepić noted that Republika Srpska has already offered priorities aligned with U.S. President Donald Trump’s key policies—energy, investment, and stability, both security and political.
“Republika Srpska has followed a consistent policy for the past 20 years, and U.S. partners know what to expect over the next 20. That predictability is what investors seek,” Pepić said, stressing that the goal is to strengthen Srpska’s international position and economic capacity.
He emphasized that Republika Srpska is ready for dialogue, not destabilization of Bosnia and Herzegovina, adding that the Federation of BiH is trying to catch up in international political and economic relations.
Pepić argued that criticism in the Federation is not directed at the ‘Troika’ for inactivity, but for misleading the public by claiming Republika Srpska was isolated—an assertion now proven false.
He added that progress made by Republika Srpska is beneficial for the Federation as well, since investments in Srpska will also benefit Bosnia and Herzegovina as a whole.
On the global balance of power, Pepić said the United States, Russia, and China will shape international relations based on interests, mutual respect, and stability, noting that U.S. policy under Trump is grounded in non-interference in internal affairs of other states.
