The spirit of the south and the Mediterranean arrives on the streets of the largest city of Srpska

Banja Luka will host the promotional caravan of the 57th Mimosa Festival from Herceg Novi on Sunday, January 25, starting at 12:00 p.m. Through a festive parade featuring a city orchestra, majorettes, trombon players, and masked performers, the caravan will bring the spirit of the Mediterranean to the city on the Vrbas River and announce one of the largest tourism and entertainment events in the region.

The traditional Mimosa Festival in Herceg Novi will be held from February 13 to February 28.

The parade, led by the Herceg Novi City Orchestra and accompanied by the recognizable symbols of this cheerful winter celebration, will fill the city streets with marching music and the festive energy of the south. After the parade, the audience will enjoy a concert by the Herceg Novi band “Trio Mare,” giving visitors a taste of the Mimosa Festival atmosphere.

During the event, citizens and guests of Banja Luka will be given mimosa flowers — the symbol of the festival and an invitation to visit Herceg Novi in February and take part in a program that, under the slogan “While everything sleeps, the mimosa awakens,” offers around 60 cultural, entertainment, gastronomic, and sports events.

Among the most recognizable events of the Mimosa Festival are the Feast of Mimosa, Fish and Wine, masquerade balls, the international carnival, flower exhibitions, a rich gastronomic program, and attractive sports competitions, which for years have ranked this event among the most significant tourist manifestations in the region.

The Banja Luka Tourist Organization supported this event as an example of successful tourism cooperation and an opportunity to bring the warmth and festive spirit of the Mediterranean south to the Banja Luka audience in the middle of winter.

Before Banja Luka, on January 24, the 57th Mimosa Festival caravan will visit Pale and East Sarajevo.
