The first children’s creativity festival “Zvezdara” to be held in spring

The Foundation “Nikola Baroš” from Prijedor will launch a new project this spring—the Children’s Creativity Festival “Zvezdara,” the foundation told SRNA.

The idea emerged after Zvezdara Theatre in Belgrade donated half of the proceeds from a literary evening organized by the foundation in Belgrade.

“This income will be directed toward a new foundation project. Our mission is to build bridges between people, generations, and cities through culture, education, and initiatives that enrich the community,” the foundation stated.

The evening at Zvezdara Theatre in Belgrade, held in November 2025, brought together Matija Bećković, Ljubivoje Ršumović, Pero Zubac, and Dušan Kovačević, after the four distinguished authors had appeared together for the first time a year earlier in Prijedor.

The foundation officially began its work on January 20, 2025, when it presented its website and its first project—“Barošica,” the first outdoor classroom in Prijedor. The planned amount of €12,500 was raised through donations by April, and the classroom is expected to be handed over to students in the spring of this year.

In July 2025, the foundation raised 2,343 KM from the sale of handicrafts at the event “Golden Hands of Potkozarje,” providing assistance to the Kostadinović family from Kuljani, who have seven children.

At the International Theatre Festival “Golden Vila” in Prijedor in November 2025, the foundation supported the best young actor, as selected by the professional jury, with a cash award. This year’s recipient was Đorđe Velimirović from the National Theatre of Priština, which operates in Gračanica.

In less than a year, the foundation has raised €17,094, with every individual donation publicly listed on its website.

The foundation is run by the family of a boy who passed away in April 2024 at the age of 13 due to the consequences of a very rare genetic mutation.
