Pale hosts exhibition on the Doboj camp until Friday

An exhibition dedicated to the Doboj camp and the suffering of Serb civilians during the First World War opened today in Pale and will remain on display until Friday.

The local Veterans’ Organization recalled that more than 45,000 detainees passed through the Doboj camp, while historians estimate that over 10,000 lost their lives there.

Most of the camp inmates were from eastern Republika Srpska, including a large number of residents from Pale.

After touring all primary and secondary schools in Pale, the exhibition has now been opened to the general public in the lobby of the Faculty of Economics in Pale.

The Veterans’ Organization invited citizens to visit the exhibition and learn more about the suffering of the Serb people through the two world wars of the 20th century.

The exhibition is organized by the Pale Veterans’ Organization in cooperation with the Pale Secondary School Center and the local primary schools “Srbija,” “Pale,” and “Mokro.”

The official closing ceremony will take place on Friday, December 26, at 12:00 p.m.
