For years, Serbia and the Serbian people have been misled when it comes to European integration, despite having earned progress through concrete results. This is a consequence of the short-sightedness and lack of vision of the current European elites, driven by bureaucratic and neoliberal interests rather than the interests of Europe and the peoples of the Western Balkans, Milorad Dodik, president of the SNSD, wrote in a post on X.
“What is the Balkans without Serbs, the most numerous people, and without Serbia and Republika Srpska, the two Serbian states? Nothing but an area of permanent instability. Aleksandar Vučić’s decision not to participate in yet another Brussels gathering was rational and responsible,” Dodik said.
He stressed that it is not possible to seriously discuss the Western Balkans without the presence of its largest and most influential state—Serbia.
“Talks without Serbia are not dialogue, but a performance. Without Serbia, there is no regional stability, nor a realistic discussion about its future,” Dodik concluded.
