Dodik: When Turkey sends drones to the Balkans, the illusion of friendship ends — it’s a message of neo-Ottomanism

President of Republika Srpska Milorad Dodik stated that by sending drones to the Balkans, Turkey has ended the false narrative of friendship and good relations, instead sending a clear message of neo-Ottoman ambition.

“Delivering kamikaze drones to Pristina is not cooperation — it’s a brutal threat to Serbia and the Serbs, and open support for Albin Kurti’s election campaign as the main exponent of anti-Serb policy who openly threatens Serbs,” Dodik wrote on X.

He stressed that such a move represents a flagrant violation of international law and UN Resolution 1244, as well as an attempt to revive the mentality of the former Kosovo Vilayet — a political project whose goal, he said, was not only to remove Serbs from Kosovo but to erase them from every place where they have lived for centuries.

“That’s why President Vučić’s policy of strengthening the Serbian Armed Forces is the only correct one,” Dodik emphasized.

He added that it is time to stop believing Turkey’s declarative statements about cooperation with all peoples in Bosnia and Herzegovina, as it is now evident that this cooperation is intended only for one side.

“Is the next step the delivery of weapons to Bosniaks in BiH, to be turned against Serbs and Croats?” Dodik asked.

He called on Serbs in Republika Srpska to closely watch the drone deliveries to Kosovo, warning that the move is not just a message to Serbia, but also to those in BiH who refuse to submit to political obedience.

“When weapons are distributed selectively while peace is preached declaratively, that is not diplomacy — that is a strategy of pressure. And that’s why Serbs no longer have the luxury of self-deception. In these times, the most important ally is unity,” Dodik concluded.
