President of Republika Srpska Milorad Dodik stated that former German Chancellor Angela Merkel had told the truth about Ukraine by admitting that the Minsk Agreements were intended to give Kyiv time to arm itself, not to prevent war and suffering — and asked, “When will someone speak the truth about Bosnia and Herzegovina?”
“When will anyone admit that those who blindly follow lies, who remain silent while their Constitution is being destroyed, who swear by Europe while betraying their own people, are not a force of peace but a threat to stability?” Dodik asked.
The president pointed out that Merkel’s admission — that the exclusivity and irresponsibility of certain states, specifically Poland and the Baltic countries, led to the war in Ukraine — naturally raises the question of what has been happening in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
“How much superficiality, bias, and misunderstanding have contributed to making relations in BiH unsustainable? For thirty years, BiH has not been treated as a partner, but as a colonial experiment,” Dodik wrote on X.
He noted that internal agreement among the three constituent peoples was never allowed in BiH; instead, the interests of foreign actors were imposed, turning everyone into “a bargaining chip.”
“International law was trampled on, democratic principles were trampled on, and the Constitution was trampled on — all in the name of a hypocritical interpretation of the rule of law. And ironically, Christian Schmidt — the man proposed by Merkel herself — now presents himself as an interpreter of that same rule of law, where he has proclaimed himself as both the law and the authority,” Dodik said.
He added that everyone in BiH who recognizes this reality has been labeled as a destabilizing factor, sanctioned, banned, and demonized.
“Angela Merkel has spoken about Ukraine. It is time for someone to speak about Bosnia and Herzegovina,” Dodik concluded.
