Republika Srpska Senator Dragomir Vuković stated that President Milorad Dodik’s visit to Russia and the results of his meeting with Russian leader Vladimir Putin are part of coordinated efforts by Srpska’s leadership to defend the original principles of the Dayton Agreement and protect Republika Srpska from the negative influence of foreign actors, the OHR in BiH, and political Sarajevo.
Vuković told SRNA that it is well known Russia supports safeguarding Republika Srpska’s position within Dayton Bosnia and Herzegovina and rejects foreign interference in the country’s internal affairs to Srpska’s detriment.
“What Mr. Dodik, Mrs. Željka Cvijanović—the Serb member of the BiH Presidency—and other political representatives of Srpska are actively doing is extremely important. In essence, it is about giving international dimension to the unjust problems Republika Srpska faces with the OHR and other actors,” Vuković said.
He added that this is also reflected in the fact that the UN Security Council, under Russia’s presidency, will discuss the situation in BiH on October 31.
“International actors will then be briefed on these serious problems, which are fundamentally aimed at destabilizing BiH. That is the essence of everything done by [unelected] Christian Schmidt, parts of the international community, and other factors,” Vuković warned.
Vuković noted that it is encouraging that international circumstances are shifting in favor of Republika Srpska, which is gaining more influential friends worldwide.
“In that direction, I expect that very soon a serious debate on the state of BiH and its future will take place at the global level,” Vuković concluded.
Russian President Vladimir Putin met yesterday in Sochi, on the sidelines of the Valdai Forum, with Republika Srpska President Milorad Dodik.
