President of Republika Srpska Milorad Dodik today in Boljanić near Doboj laid a wreath at the monument to members of the Yugoslav Army in the Homeland who were killed during the rescue of Allied pilots on Ozren in the “Halijard” operation 81 years ago.
On behalf of the institutions of Republika Srpska, the wreath was laid together with President Dodik by National Assembly Speaker Nenad Stevandić, Prime Minister Savo Minić, Serb member of the BiH Presidency Željka Cvijanović, and ministers of the RS Government.
Wreaths were also laid by delegations from Serbia, led by State Secretary in the Ministry of Labor, Employment, Veterans and Social Affairs Nikola Vukelić, then delegations of the U.S. Embassy in BiH, “Halijard” Mission Foundation President John Cappello, the Third Infantry /Republika Srpska/ Regiment of the BiH Armed Forces, and Doboj Mayor Boris Јerinić.
The commemoration program began with the national anthems of Republika Srpska “Moja Republika” and Serbia “Bože pravde”, followed by the wreath-laying ceremony and scheduled addresses by officials.
