The House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH is not superior to the National Assembly of Republika Srpska, and Bosniak delegates should learn about competences and jurisdictions, said the President of the National Assembly of Republika Srpska, Nenad Stevandić.
The National Assembly today received the request of Bosniak delegates in the House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH – Šefik Džaferović, Dženan Đonlagić, Džemal Smajić, and Safet Softić – dated September 18, 2025. In this request, they demanded the Decision proposing Savo Minić as the candidate for Prime Minister of Republika Srpska, along with the transcript or minutes from the 25th special session of the National Assembly of Republika Srpska held on September 2, 2025, in relation to the request of the Constitutional Court of BiH from September 16, 2025.
“We inform you that we will not comply with your request, because the House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH is not competent to collect documentation needed for proceedings before the Constitutional Court of BiH, nor is it superior to the National Assembly of Republika Srpska that would oblige us to act upon your request,” Stevandić stated in his response.
He called on the Bosniak delegates to familiarize themselves with their jurisdictions.
“And to adjust your manner of communication with other institutions in BiH accordingly. Once you learn the protocol, recognize your competences, and adapt your way of communication, you may kindly address the National Assembly of Republika Srpska with a request instead of saying ‘it is demanded and required,’ in areas where our cooperation is appropriate within the division of powers in the constitutional and legal order of Republika Srpska and BiH,” Stevandić concluded.
