This evening in Banja Luka, citizens gathered with the support of institutions to honor the slain conservative activist Charlie Kirk.
Candles were lit by Serb delegate in the House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH Radovan Kovačević, political scientist Vojislav Savić, president of the Balkan Society of Nations Mario Ćumurović, advisor to the President of Republika Srpska Marko Romić, National Assembly deputies Srđan Mazalica and Vlado Đajić, and president of the Banja Luka City Assembly Ljubo Ninković.
Kovačević emphasized that American activist Charlie Kirk stood for values supported by every patriot, noting that those who think differently no longer choose their means in targeting people inclined toward Christian and family values.

“Banja Luka and Republika Srpska must show solidarity with Kirk’s family and with the American people who have endured this kind of tragedy. Unfortunately, we live in BiH, where in one part there are people who celebrate such a horrific act. It is clear that patriots around the world have become victims,” Kovačević stated.
Political scientist Mario Ćumurović said that Charlie Kirk was killed solely because he stood for Christian traditional values and defended the truth.
“We gathered to show respect for a man who died for the truth. I hope Kirk will be an inspiration to young people to fight for the values they believe in,” Ćumurović said.

Political scientist Vojislav Savić stressed that he came first and foremost as a human being, because no one should be killed for their opinion or words.
“The same media that demonized us are the ones who normalized violence against Kirk, which led to this tragedy,” Savić said.
Charlie Kirk, one of the key allies of U.S. President Donald Trump, was killed while speaking at a mass event at Utah Valley University on September 10. He is survived by his wife and two children.
Kirk was a vocal opponent of gun control, LGBT rights, abortion, and aid to Ukraine.
