Organizations established from the defensive-patriotic war, recognized as being of public interest for Republika Srpska, expressed gratitude to the Government of Republika Srpska and its Prime Minister for everything they have done for the veteran population in recent years.
The statement from these organizations is transmitted in full:
We are aware that more could have been achieved, as is always the case. The greatest obstacles, unfortunately, came from a part of the veteran population whose unrealistic demands and pressures at times influenced the adoption of irrational decisions. This, however, cannot overshadow the positive results achieved by the Government under the leadership of Prime Minister Radovan Višković.
We especially value his exceptionally high level of political and patriotic responsibility when he correctly assessed the situation and made, under the given circumstances, the best possible decision for the interests of Republika Srpska and the Serb people, thereby creating opportunities to infuse new strength and energy into the government structure of Republika Srpska.
That new strength and energy are now needed for Republika Srpska and for all who are committed to decisively defending Republika Srpska, its property, and its institutions. This is a historic opportunity that must not be missed, because another one simply will not come.
To give up on Republika Srpska now would mean killing once again the tens of thousands of Serb patriots of the 1990s who dreamed of the same freedom we dream of today. It would mean surrendering and betraying our land for the interests of a hated enemy and for a handful of dollars and euros for the fifth column.
Future generations would never forgive us. Therefore, today no one has the right to retreat or surrender under any circumstances. If we cannot defend the President of Republika Srpska, how will we defend Republika Srpska itself and all that makes it a guarantee of freedom for the Serb people? This is a historic moment incomparable to any other in the recent or distant history of Serbs in these lands.
Comparisons of this situation with other moments in recent history are inappropriate, vulgar, and offensive, because this is a completely different geopolitical context—one that offers hope to all small democratic, sovereign peoples and states. Whoever does not understand this is either without reason, an inherent enemy of Serbs, or a traitor and foreign mercenary.
This time, the will of the Serb people must not be ignored or trampled upon. It is the people of Republika Srpska, in accordance with its Constitution and laws, who must decide who their President and Government will be—not the descendant of a Nazi officer from the Second World War. Everything he has done in this country has inflicted irreparable damage on all peoples in BiH.
So, will we obey his will or the will of our own people? We want to believe that the time has passed when Serbs killed and delivered their leaders to foreigners. Today, the matter concerns the President of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, by name, but any other after him would face the same fate. That would become the model of behavior for the occupying authorities and their collaborators.
We support all decisions and conclusions of the leadership of Republika Srpska, the National Assembly, and the Government of Republika Srpska that reject political verdicts based on a nonexistent, imposed law under which someone is held accountable for carrying out the will of their own people in accordance with the Constitution, as President Milorad Dodik has done.
Even more unacceptable are the decisions of an operational administrative body in the electoral process in BiH (the CEC), which—contrary to the Constitution and the will of a constituent people—seeks to strip the legally and legitimately elected President of Republika Srpska of his mandate.
If we accept this now, we will have signed Republika Srpska’s and the Serb people’s death sentence, and we will suffer the fate of Serbs from the Republic of Srpska Krajina in 1995. Therefore, we, the patriotic forces gathered in organizations from the defensive-patriotic war, hereby declare that we will never allow it. With our intellectual and patriotic potential, we can, under peaceful conditions and without the use or threat of force, preserve Republika Srpska, its President, and its property.
The only condition for this is to ensure the highest level of national unity among all political and social actors in Republika Srpska, in Serbia, and wherever Serbs live and work. Around Republika Srpska, we must now all stand united, while political actors may compete with their programs in everything else.
Under no circumstances must we allow Republika Srpska, its property, and its institutions to be betrayed, sold, or surrendered by those who were either not born or still in diapers when our one and only Republika Srpska was being created and defended.
The majority will of the Serb people will be verified and confirmed in the referendum scheduled for October 25, 2025, and we call on all patriots of Republika Srpska to give their maximum contribution to the undeniable success of the referendum and the victory of Republika Srpska.
