Košarac: Republika Srpska and Dodik defend Dayton, while the Bosniak political structure undermines it

The Dayton Peace Agreement is defended by Republika Srpska and its President Milorad Dodik, while it is being undermined by the Bosniak political structure, which endorses the unconstitutional decisions of the false high representative Christian Schmidt, said Staša Košarac, deputy chair of the Council of Ministers.

Košarac stated that the policy of Republika Srpska has always been based on the letter of the Dayton Agreement, and everything Dodik, the institutions of Srpska, and its representatives at the BiH level do is directed toward the protection of the constitutional and Dayton structure.

He said that the Dayton Agreement is being dismantled by the Bosniak political structure by supporting and verifying Schmidt’s unconstitutional and anti-Dayton decisions, which, among other things, led to the launch of a politically motivated process against President Dodik.

“No one from the Bosniak political structure said that this was harmful to BiH. On the contrary, they applauded and welcomed such a politically staged process against President Dodik,” Košarac added in an interview with the British public broadcaster BBC.

He pointed out that the political crisis in BiH was caused by the illegitimate Schmidt and former U.S. ambassador to BiH Michael Murphy, who sought to impose their policies and interfere with BiH legislation, contrary to the Dayton Constitution.

“Sarajevo’s interpretations and translations, supported by the illegitimate Schmidt and other ambassadors, created the narrative that Republika Srpska is undermining Dayton. That is not true. We support consistent implementation of Dayton,” said Košarac, who is also a member of the SNSD presidency.

Košarac emphasized that Bosniak politicians always seek partnerships with foreigners instead of with legitimately elected representatives of the Serb and Croat peoples in BiH, thereby undermining the sovereignty of the country.

“Dodik has consistently warned that BiH lacks sovereignty due to the capitulation of the Bosniak political structure to illegitimate foreigners. We have been warning that it is important to engage in dialogue and define BiH’s sovereignty in a way that ensures decisions are made by domestic politicians, without foreign involvement, and to return to Dayton, the Constitution, and constitutional solutions,” Košarac stressed.

Despite all political pressures, the politically staged process, and the unfounded smear campaign, Košarac added, President Dodik and Republika Srpska still call for dialogue, but the Bosniak structures are not responding.
