The real growth of gross domestic product in the first quarter of 2025, compared to the first quarter of 2024, amounted to 1.5 percent.
According to the classification of activities grouped at the A10 level, in the first quarter of 2025, significant real growth of gross value added was recorded in the areas of information and communication by 4.1 percent; arts, entertainment and recreation, and other service activities by 3.2 percent; wholesale and retail trade, repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles, transportation and storage, accommodation and food service activities, hospitality by 2.9 percent, according to the Republika Srpska Institute of Statistics.
A real decline in gross value added was recorded in the areas of mining and quarrying; manufacturing; electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply; water supply; sewerage; waste management; and remediation activities, by 3.1 percent, including a 7.6 percent drop in the manufacturing sector.
The quarterly gross domestic product in Republika Srpska has shown consecutive positive real growth rates for the past seventeen quarters, the statement reads.
