The President of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, described the announced meeting between representatives of opposition parties from Srpska, the Sarajevo-based political “Troika,” and representatives of the HDZ, organized by the Office of the High Representative (OHR), as yet another failed attempt by the OHR and interference in Bosnia and Herzegovina’s internal affairs — one that will only deepen the ongoing crisis.
Dodik reiterated that the OHR should leave BiH, stating that the OHR’s policy is a policy of Bosnia’s collapse.
“It is a policy of dismantling the international agreement, and all high representatives have undermined the agreement by implementing some sort of political platform, while they were obligated to uphold its exact wording. They have devastated it,” said Dodik in Gradiška.
Dodik stated that the opposition representatives from Srpska attending the meeting is a clear act of betrayal.
“They believe everything begins and ends with them. Unfortunately, with them, everything ends — nothing begins,” said Dodik, who is also the president of SNSD.
He emphasized that by attending the meeting, the opposition is encouraging the rigid part of the international community to continue taking harmful measures against Republika Srpska.
He also expressed disbelief that opposition figures claim they are going to the OHR meeting to defend the interests of Srpska.
“That’s just a narrative to justify their betrayal. Some foreign actors told them that so they wouldn’t completely collapse politically. They are nothing more than ordinary subjects,” Dodik added.
Dodik reiterated that Republika Srpska does not recognize Christian Schmidt as the high representative.
“I said that long ago, and I’m not changing that stance. Because it is correct, justified, materially provable, and legally very clear, I am now facing persecution — through the illegal, unconstitutional Court of BiH and through sanctions imposed by certain EU countries,” said Dodik.
