This evening in Doboj, 76 artworks created by 19 students of the “Little Picasso” drawing and painting school, which operates within the Center for Culture and Education, were exhibited.
The school was led by Mišo Damjanović, advisor for gallery activities at the Doboj Center for Culture and Education, who told reporters that the students of the four-month course were between the ages of seven and fourteen.
Damjanović explained that regardless of prior knowledge, the program with the children started from the basics — how to properly hold a pencil and paints, how to use materials, and how to approach composition.
“We mastered many techniques. We started with drawing using graphite pencils, watercolor, gouache, modeling, and moved on to more complex mixed techniques,” said Damjanović.
The director of the Center for Culture and Education, Vukosava Sofrenić, said the school serves as an encouragement for young people to continue their work, to express themselves creatively through visual art, and to develop a sense of beauty.
