Young accordion virtuoso from Bijeljina, Đorđe Perić, won first place and a gold medal with the maximum score of 100 points at a prestigious international competition in Rome, competing against participants from over 20 countries, the “Kornelije Stanković” Music School in Bijeljina announced.
Đorđe was the only representative from Bosnia and Herzegovina at the festival, where he performed in the under-18 category, in the instrumental genre discipline (all instruments), and was among the youngest participants.
“This victory holds special significance as Đorđe, a young accordionist, managed to stand out among numerous talented pianists, which is a rare feat given the strength of the piano school,” the statement said.
The “Kornelije Stanković” Music School emphasized that his remarkable success once again proves that talent, dedication, and a passion for music can lead to great achievements.
“With this victory, Đorđe has set high standards for many young artists and reaffirmed his dominance on the international music scene,” the school added.
Đorđe is a student at the “Kornelije Stanković” Music School in Bijeljina, in the class of his father, Professor Slaviša Perić, who was also awarded at the festival for outstanding achievements in pedagogy.
