The Russian mission to the OSCE has expressed complete disagreement with the stance of the Chairmanship and the Secretary General of the organization regarding recent political developments in BiH. It has called on all OSCE structures to demonstrate impartiality and make every effort to contribute to the stabilization of the political situation in BiH.
- We firmly believe that it is unacceptable to use OSCE institutions, including the Organization’s presence on the ground in BiH, to exert pressure on Serbs in BiH while completely ignoring the unlawful methods of the illegitimate “high representative” – the Russian mission to the OSCE stated on the social network X.
The mission pointed out that the joint statement by the Finnish OSCE Chairmanship and the OSCE Secretary General on Friday, March 7, regarding recent political developments in BiH, was marked by an extremely biased tone.
Commenting on the joint statement, the mission emphasized that the entire responsibility for the escalation of the interethnic and constitutional crisis in the country was unfairly attributed solely to the leadership of Republika Srpska.
“The authors of the document deliberately overlooked the fact that the normative legal acts adopted by the National Assembly of Republika Srpska were a response to the legal anarchy committed by the so-called High Representative Christian Schmidt, who is supported by Western countries,” the statement added.
The Russian mission pointed out that the politically motivated prosecution of Republika Srpska President Milorad Dodik, based on a fabricated and absurd criminal case initiated by Schmidt, is just one manifestation of a broader effort to marginalize patriotic Serb forces in BiH’s political life.
- Once again, the OSCE leadership has ignored the principle of impartiality and demonstrated a biased and one-sided approach to a complex and unstable conflict situation – the Russian mission stated.
The statement further notes that there is a noticeable absence of any reference to the Dayton Agreement, which enshrined the principle of equality between the two entities and the three constituent peoples.
- It is evident that the OSCE leadership has consciously chosen to support efforts to dismantle the Dayton framework, which has been the foundation for preserving BiH’s statehood for nearly 30 years – the Russian mission to the OSCE warned.
