The key message from US Secretary of State Mark Rubio is a call for serious and constructive dialogue in Bosnia and Herzegovina, said Radovan Kovačević, a delegate in the Serb Club of the House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH, during our Morning Program.
“And we are calling for the same—everything based on the Constitution and the Dayton Agreement. For 30 years, we have been advocating for a serious and constructive dialogue among the key actors in Bosnia and Herzegovina,” Kovačević said.
However, as Kovačević emphasized, one side refuses to engage in dialogue.
“And that is the problem. They are waiting for the international factor to complete the job in their favor, to finish off Republika Srpska, and to dismantle the Dayton Agreement. We will continue to explain that those fighting against us are the same people who wanted anything but a victory for Donald Trump. These are people who supported Joe Biden and Kamala Harris. They have never supported, nor do they support, the statements of Trump, Vance, or Rubio,” Kovačević stated.
He also noted that one part of Rubio’s message did not sit well with him.
He recalled that before Rubio’s statement, Ann Wagner had spoken out—someone he described as a Bosniak lobbyist and a member of the Republican Party.
“She harbors a deep-seated hatred toward the Serb people and Republika Srpska, and she certainly has influence over the Secretary of State,” Kovačević said.
