The audience at the Cultural Center in Han Pijesak enjoyed the cabaret Love Behind the Scenes, written by Mina Lazarević and Vladimir Posavec Tušek. The performance follows a middle-aged couple as they navigate humorous, romantic, and challenging situations, all accompanied by music and poetry.
Mina Lazarević, a leading actress at the Terazije Theater, told Srna that she had previously performed in Han Pijesak and that the atmosphere in the Cultural Center was wonderful. She emphasized that cabaret is an interactive form of theater where the audience reacts, roots for love, and enjoys a well-told story.
“Our hearts are full because we played with the audience, had a wonderful exchange, and that’s what we’re here for,” said Lazarević, who did not let an injured leg prevent her from performing Love Behind the Scenes.
She announced that the tour in Republika Srpska will continue, with performances scheduled for March 7 in Banja Luka at the Kestenburg International Student Theater Festival and March 8 in Gradiška, followed by ten performances across Serbia throughout the month.
Actor Vladimir Posavec Tušek expressed his delight at his first performance in Han Pijesak and the large turnout, including audience members from neighboring areas.
He explained that Love Behind the Scenes tells the story of two middle-aged actors who meet, fall in love, and decide to work together, exploring whether people have the right to love later in life.
“At the same time, it is a story about what happens behind the theater curtain, about the lives of actors, the challenges we face on stage and in our personal lives—something that always intrigues the audience,” Tušek said.
The story concludes in a retirement home, where he struggles to remember his lines, and she can no longer hear.
Tušek added that the cabaret, performed with audience interaction, features nine musical numbers and poetry.
He also announced his return to Han Pijesak in the fall with the play Tesla – The Angel’s Adjustment, which he performs alongside Momčilo Otašević throughout the region.
The Center for Youth and Sports “Pogled” in Han Pijesak organized the cabaret’s performance.
