Dodik: New draft of Srpska’s constitution to be finalized in Banja Luka on Wednesday

The president of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, announced that a meeting will be held in Banja Luka on Wednesday to finalize the new draft of Srpska’s constitution.

Dodik stated that the new constitution will define the exact constitutional position of Republika Srpska, emphasizing that anything imposed will no longer be valid.

He added that he agrees with guaranteeing a set number of seats in the National Assembly of Republika Srpska for the constituent peoples.

“We have legitimacy—Republika Srpska is a party in the Dayton process,” Dodik said.

He recalled that the Constitution of Bosnia and Herzegovina was signed by the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which at the time had no authorization from either Croats or Serbs, and that at the moment of signing, it was declared that the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina ceased to exist and continued as Bosnia and Herzegovina. Under that constitution, the main political entities are the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Republika Srpska.

“All reforms, deceptions, obstructions, and coercion will be rejected at this moment. We will follow procedure, and we will make this happen,” Dodik stated in Mostar.
