The trial of Republika Srpska President Milorad Dodik and acting director of the Official Gazette of Srpska, Miloš Lukić, for “non-compliance with the decision of Christian Schmidt” will continue tomorrow before the Court of BiH, according to their attorney Goran Bubić.
Bubić stated that Dodik, as the primary defendant in this case, will testify tomorrow.
He confirmed that the hearing is scheduled for 12:00 PM.
Last week, Judge Sena Uzunović rejected the defense’s request to have the indictment read again and to present witnesses, explaining that the request was “unfounded” and that granting it would lead to “delays in the proceedings” before the Court of BiH.
Following the decision, Bubić stated in Sarajevo that by continuing the main trial under these conditions, the Court of BiH had violated the law to the detriment of the defense.
Slavko Mitrović, an advisor to President Dodik, testified before the Court that he had advised the President that there were no legal obstacles preventing him from signing decrees on the promulgation of laws passed by the National Assembly.
Meanwhile, Professor Siniša Karan stated before the Court of BiH that the Constitution of Republika Srpska does not recognize the possibility of the President refusing to sign a decree, emphasizing that the National Assembly is the sole body responsible for enacting laws.
Karan further asserted that imposed decisions undermine the constitutional framework of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
