Dodik: A united Republika Srpska is a guarantee that the crime in Drakulić will never happen again

A united Republika Srpska and its institutions are a guarantee that the crime in Drakulić will never happen again, said the president of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, at the commemoration of the 83rd anniversary of the Ustasha massacre of more than 2,300 Serbs in this village and the surrounding areas of Motike, Šargovac, and the Rakovac mine.

“We must neither forget nor forgive what happened on that day in 1942, when 2,300 people, including more than 500 children, were killed without a single bullet. Simply because they were Serbs. I am convinced that if, hypothetically, the ‘Ustashe’ were able to return today, they would repeat everything, even more shamelessly and without a single living witness, completing what they failed to finish eight decades ago,” emphasized Dodik.

He stated that the Serbs were the ones who brought freedom to other nations in both World Wars.

“And then, at the end of the last century, they turned against the Serb people, perhaps as a way of thanking us for the freedom we brought them. That is why it is the duty of every Serb to uphold our identity. Today, international factors, aided by ‘neighbors,’ want us to be an enslaved people. That is why they object when we call for the unification of our people. Why is the idea of the ‘Serb World’ a bad one? We only want our Republika Srpska and a stable Serbia,” added Dodik.

He once again stressed the crucial importance of the unity of the Serb people, as well as the unity of Republika Srpska.

“If they take away our Republic Day on January 9, they will be one step away from taking away Republika Srpska itself. We will not and must not allow that, and our greatest strength lies in our institutions,” Dodik emphasized.

The president of Republika Srpska also stressed that the Serb people must not abandon Kosovo and Metohija and the suffering Serbs living there.

“We must never recognize that false state,” Dodik concluded.
