The trial of the President of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, and the acting director of the Official Gazette, Miloš Lukić, for “non-compliance with the decisions of Christian Schmidt” will continue today at the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The defense of the Republika Srpska president has requested that the trial against Dodik and Lukić start from the beginning due to the expiration of the 30-day period since the last hearing. According to procedural rules, if this period expires and there is no agreement between the parties in the proceedings, the evidence must be presented again.
President Dodik expects the Court to accept their request. “If the Court does not accept it, this becomes an eliminating factor for any future verdict in any subsequent process,” Dodik stated.
The last hearing in this case was held on December 5. President Dodik underwent surgery on December 9 and has since been in post-operative recovery.
