Nearly half a million Temu packages arrived in BiH since September

The online shopping platform Temu is experiencing growing success in the market of Bosnia and Herzegovina, with the number of orders increasing daily. Since September, nearly half a million orders have been delivered.

According to the Indirect Taxation Authority (ITA), 468,975 orders from Temu have arrived in BiH so far.

The customs office in Sarajevo received 72,759 orders, with the lowest recorded value being 72.41 BAM. The highest declared value of goods was 1,109 BAM, which, as the ITA notes, represents the most expensive order from Temu.

The customs office in Tuzla recorded 18,104 packages, while the Banja Luka customs office received 180,846 packages.

Most shipments ranged in value from 90 to 300 BAM. The largest individual shipment, worth 590 BAM, was returned to the sender because the recipient refused to pay customs duties.

In the customs office in Gradiška, 129,020 packages were recorded, and in Trebinje, 68,246 packages arrived.

The highest order value in Trebinje was 309 BAM, while the average value was below 100 BAM.

“When it comes to shipments imported through the Temu app, analysis of the submitted documentation shows that these shipments are of negligible value. They are sent directly from other countries to individuals in BiH at different addresses and do not exceed 300 BAM per shipment. These packages qualify for exemption from import duties in accordance with Article 207 of the Customs Policy Law in BiH, as well as Articles 24 and 25 of the Decision on Conditions and Procedures for Exemption from Payment of Import and Export Duties,” ITA representatives stated.

Customs duties are not charged in BiH for packages valued under 300 BAM.

When packages arrive in BiH, they first go through customs inspection before being handed over to postal services for delivery to recipients.
