The traditional event Basketball Assembly 2024 will take place on December 30, 2024 (Monday) at the Sports Center Borik in Banja Luka.
This 26th edition of the event will feature matches between the national teams of Republika Srpska in both categories against the selections of the Basketball League of Serbia.
The women’s teams will play at 4 PM, while the men’s teams will meet at 6 PM.
The Secretary-General of the Basketball Federation of Republika Srpska, Dragan Ćazić, thanked all the sponsors who supported this event.
A curiosity is that the Basketball Assembly will be held for the first time at the Sports Center Borik in the year when it celebrates 50 years of successful work. In addition to these traditional matches between the national teams, awards and recognitions will be presented, as well as the announcement of the best basketball player and basketball player of Republika Srpska for 2024.
At halftime of the men’s match, a three-point shooting and dunk contest will be held.
The day before, on December 29, friendly matches between the U-15 and U-16 national teams of Republika Srpska and Serbia are planned.
Additionally, our U-13 teams are currently in Paris participating in the Christmas Tournament, at the invitation of Goran Radonjić, Director of International Relations in the French Federation, said Ćazić.
The men’s national team of Republika Srpska will be led by Marko Šćekić, coach of Borac Banja Luka.
Šćekić thanked the Basketball Federations of Republika Srpska and Serbia for continuing this tradition.
I’m glad we’ll celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Borik hall with this match. I hope the Assembly will deliver a quality game because I’m sure the players participating have a lot to show.
It’s an honor to coach the team of Republika Srpska. We will form a younger team with talented players who have great futures and will aim to win. This is also an opportunity for young players to prove themselves, said Šćekić.
Admission to the Assembly is free, and those unable to attend can follow the games live on Arena Sport TV.
