The Serb member and Chairwoman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Željka Cvijanović, sent a telegram of condolences to the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, following the plane crash in Kazakhstan.
“I was deeply saddened by the news of the plane crash involving the ‘Azerbaijan Airlines’ in Kazakhstan, which claimed many lives. In these difficult moments, our thoughts are with you, the families of the victims, and the people of Azerbaijan,” the telegram states.
Expressing her deepest condolences, Cvijanović asked Aliyev to convey sincere sympathy and support to all those affected by this tragedy.
The Serb member and Chairwoman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina wished the injured a quick and successful recovery.
Pilots of the “Azerbaijan Airlines” aircraft died in the crash in Kazakhstan, the emergency response center at the scene told the Interfax agency.
According to doctors, the bodies of four victims were found at the crash site in Aktau.
Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Transport announced that there were 62 passengers and five crew members on board, and a total of 28 people survived the crash.
