Olga Ravasi, president and founder of the “Serbs for Trump” organization, told RTRS that Donald Trump’s victory in the U.S. presidential election is significant for the entire world, especially for Americans of Serb descent, who have, for the first time, been recognized as an organized political community.
Ravasi explained that Americans of Serb origin became involved in the campaign quite spontaneously in 2016 and have continued to support Trump, leading to this, what she called, historic victory.
“In history, such an achievement by Americans of Serbian descent has never occurred. While they attempted to engage in previous periods, Serbs as a people, as a unique entity with its own weight, have never been recognized in any political campaign, let alone one of such importance,” she highlighted in RTRS’s “Second Angle” program.
Ravasi noted that Trump’s victory is monumental not only for the U.S. but also for the world, which is moving towards multipolarity.
She believes that Trump will be more inclined toward cooperation, as he is “the president of peace.”
Additionally, Ravasi mentioned, the Trump administration is expected to be completely free of so-called hawks, or neoconservatives, from his previous term.
“There is now a big struggle, especially in the Senate, considering that a vote for the Senate leader has been announced,” she said.
Ravasi also believes that one of the reasons for the Democrats’ loss was the poor candidate (Kamala Harris) they presented to the public.
