The President of the National Assembly of Republika Srpska, Nenad Stevandić, stated that the Islamic Community in BiH has clearly moved away from religious matters and entered the field of political Islam.
Following the Islamic Community’s statement that the Declaration of the All-Serb Assembly, among other things, “denies the statehood of BiH,” Stevandić emphasized that this religious community cannot be equated with the statehood of BiH, as this reflects Alija Izetbegović’s vision of establishing an Islamic order.
“They clearly don’t understand that they live in a state where all groups—Serbs, Croats, and Bosniaks—have equal say, and that Islam, Orthodoxy, and Catholicism do not participate in shaping political processes but focus on religious matters,” Stevandić said.
Stevandić noted that the Bosniak member of the BiH Presidency, Denis Bećirović, and the Minister of Defense in the Council of Ministers, Zukan Helez, are attempting to create a form of Hamas in BiH, while the Islamic Community is pushing a type of political Islam.
He highlighted that these two processes are occurring in parallel and are a direct consequence of the actions of international actors, who are pursuing imaginary issues unrelated to Republika Srpska, which is being falsely accused.
“Those attempting to destabilize BiH completely through some form of political Hamas or political Islam are rewarded and permitted to publicly legitimize Islamic politics rather than the Islamic religious community in BiH,” Stevandić told SRNA.
