“We will demand that the chief negotiator with the European Union from Bosnia and Herzegovina be a Serb from Republika Srpska,” stated Milorad Dodik, President of Republika Srpska.
Dodik pointed out that the Minister of Foreign Affairs in the Council of Ministers is a Bosniak, his deputy is a Croat, and the Director of the Directorate for European Integration is also a Bosniak, so it is only logical that a Serb should be involved in this position.
“This is a point of contention, as they now invent all sorts of stories about having three representatives, and whenever something is supposed to go to the Serb side, it is undermined. They can do whatever they want; we will reasonably demand that the chief negotiator be a Serb from Republika Srpska, chosen by us and accepted by them. If they don’t agree, they don’t agree—what can we do?” Dodik said.
He highlighted that these are all manipulations intended to keep this issue unresolved, allowing the Minister of Foreign Affairs in the Council of Ministers, Elmedin Konaković, and others to continue maneuvering internationally.
Dodik reminded that the Bosniak member of the Presidency, Denis Bećirović, makes slanderous remarks wherever he goes, defaming Serbia, the President of Serbia, Dodik himself, and the Serb people as a whole.
Dodik, who is also the leader of SNSD, announced that on Tuesday, he will attend a meeting of the parliamentary majority leaders at the BiH level, where he will emphasize the need to implement everything that was previously agreed upon.
He pointed out that from the start, there have been at least six or seven agreements on various issues that were never implemented.
“They chose the narrative of blaming Republika Srpska, claiming that Srpska is the one refusing something. I will lay out everything for them, from discussions on Buk Bijela, the Trebinje airport, the gas pipeline, and many other agreements we reached,” Dodik stated.
He noted they have been deceiving and recalled the situation with the BiH Constitutional Court, where it was supposed to be postponed, yet a year and a half has passed since then.
“They always deceive, while we do not go there to deceive. We go there to say what we believe can be done. It can only be done by urgently implementing everything that was previously agreed upon,” Dodik emphasized.
