The President of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, stated that the organized witch hunt led by certain federal media against Serbian representatives from Serbia and Srpska is an expression of the impotence of their handlers.
“Certain portals promoting the SDA and the policy of promoting compliant Croats and Serbs to make unitarization a reality as soon as possible do not stop in their attacks on Serbia and Srpska. The relations between Srpska and Serbia are the best they have ever been, and that is what bothers them. Cooperation is visible in everything and at every step. Our goal is to strengthen it, and we are actively working on that,” emphasized the President of Srpska in an interview with Srna when asked to comment on the organized witch hunt led by federal media against Srpska and Serbia, specifically Serbian leaders Milorad Dodik and Aleksandar Vučić.
The Serbian people have never been as united as they are now
Dodik said that the Serbian people have never been as united as they are now, and he is proud to belong to the generation of politicians who contributed to that unity.
“Together with President Aleksandar Vučić, I will work to make the unity of the Serbian people even more visible. Serbia is strong and powerful today, and it supports BiH, but the Bosniaks, due to their hatred, are unable to see that and thus demonstrate all their fervor. This witch hunt is maintained through the media, where they try to create the image that the problem lies with those who offer help and who respect international law and agreements,” Dodik pointed out.
He questioned what would happen if Serbia behaved towards BiH in the same way the Bosniak representatives behave concerning the self-proclaimed Kosovo*.
Dodik emphasized that the Bosniaks must understand that this policy of hypocrisy and hatred brings nothing good to anyone and that they should turn to the European path, which is impossible without cooperation with Serbia and other countries in the region.
“By directing hatred towards Serbia and constantly attacking everything Serbian, they are negating European integration,” Dodik stated in an interview with Srna.
Commenting on the statement of the Director of the Government of Serbia’s Office for Public and Cultural Diplomacy, Arno Gujon, that media teams that Serbia will establish by the end of the year to respond to fake news in that country will also react to lies about Republika Srpska, the President of Republika Srpska welcomed this decision, stressing that the Serbs today, as they have been for years, are subjected to constant attacks and anti-Serb propaganda aimed at weakening our people and our countries.
“Republika Serbia and Republika Srpska today can respond to these attacks, and it is important to do everything possible to stop disinformation, so our voice and our stance are heard. It is especially important that there will be a reaction from Serbia to all slanders and lies about Srpska. These are all the results of our joint activities and part of the goals we plan to achieve. In Republika Srpska, our teams are actively working on monitoring all disinformation as part of their daily activities, and the plan is to further consolidate this process and establish a special body to respond, following Serbia’s example,” Dodik said.
As long as Srpska is attacked, the seriousness of Bosniak politicians’ intentions for BiH’s European path cannot be trusted
When asked to comment on the statement of the Minister of Transport and Communications in the Council of Ministers, Edin Forto, who said that BiH should push with all its might towards the EU, the President of Srpska responded that it is good to hear there is a will among the Bosniaks to continue on the European path, but as long as they attack Srpska, the seriousness of their intentions to accelerate the entire process towards the EU cannot be trusted.
“We will wait for the elections to be held. Perhaps reason will prevail among the Bosniaks. I expect that after the elections, they will show their commitment. Soon, those who have caused much harm to BiH and who are actively involved in processes that forcibly seek to reshape the will of the voters in Srpska will be gone. These are the people who have most severely undermined trust between Serbs and Bosniaks and have completely nullified the dialogue between local representatives. Their departure opens the space to improve these relations,” Dodik emphasized.
The failure of the EU is that it allowed all the progress that was made to be destroyed
Speaking about the statement of the Head of the EU Delegation, Johann Sattler, that he considers the biggest failure of his mandate in BiH to be the lack of agreement on electoral reform and the lack of genuine reconciliation, specifically the acknowledgment of the suffering of all war victims from 1992 to 1995, the President of Srpska responded that the failure of the EU is that it allowed all the progress that had been made to be destroyed, which is the thing that has prevented the achievement of reconciliation and the building of better relations.
“Sattler knows this, even though he does not say it. During his tenure, there were various phases in relations with the institutions of Srpska. We could hear various messages; some were not constructive, some were, but we overcame them through dialogue. I wish him greater success in his new position. The problem with all diplomats in BiH is that even though they see the realities we live in, they do not honestly speak about these issues in public, precisely because of pressure from Sarajevo, and as a result, we have less and less trust in them. And Sattler himself has seen and felt this,” Dodik said.
The resolution on Srebrenica did not achieve the effect the Bosniaks wanted; much of the world understood what it was about
Asked to comment on the writings of federal media that the article in the Encyclopedia Britannica uses the term “massacre” instead of “genocide” in the context of events in Srebrenica in 1995, which caused a series of reactions from Bosniak political circles and associations of victims’ families, Dodik responded that this is further proof that the resolution on Srebrenica, which was created by the unilateral action of the Bosniaks and whose goal was to label the Serbs as genocidal, did not achieve the effect the Bosniaks wanted, and much of the world understood what it was about, which is becoming increasingly evident.
He said it is therefore not surprising that the publication of the Encyclopedia Britannica on Srebrenica has enraged Sarajevo and that an organized witch hunt by the Bosniaks has already begun, including sending letters in an attempt to exert pressure and spread new falsehoods.
“The facts are that a crime occurred in Srebrenica and that there was no genocide, and much of the world knows and understands this. This has also been confirmed by some of the most prominent names in the field of Holocaust research. It is clear that many want to portray the Serbs as criminals and to present us as such, especially those who committed genocide against the Serbs, but even their lies cannot last forever. We will fight to ensure that the truth prevails and that the memory of the suffering of the Serbian people is preserved, and against all those who deny Serbian victims. In the current global circumstances where a part of the West wants to send the message that only the Bosniaks are victims, siding exclusively with them and respecting only their pain, while avoiding Serbian commemorations to avoid being subjected to pressure and attacks, we will continue to commemorate and remember our fallen with dignity,” Dodik said.
He emphasized that the pain of Serb, Bosniak, and Croatian mothers is the same, and no one has the right to differentiate between Serbian, Croatian, and Bosniak victims.
“Reconciliation cannot be achieved through persecution and spreading hatred towards the Serbs. Reconciliation is also absent in the political activities of associations that have been established and should aim to preserve the memory of the fallen. The only way to establish normal life in BiH is to stop the organized attacks on Republika Srpska and the Serbs and for everyone to show respect for every victim. I respect the pain of those who have lost their loved ones, and there is more understanding for harsh words and what we hear, but what we have been witnessing for years from the Bosniaks is turning into a political project with a clear intention to settle accounts with the Serbs and Srpska. Some are trying to profit from spreading hatred towards the Serbs, constantly spreading lies and attacking Republika Srpska, and we will always have a response to such things,” Dodik emphasized in an interview with Srna.
The love Helez has for Borenović and the PDP is not accidental; Srpska is functioning to the great disappointment of BN TV, the opposition in Srpska, and political and media Sarajevo
When asked by Srna to comment on the statement by the Minister of Defense in the Council of Ministers, Zukan Helez, that the era of “Milorad Dodik’s retrograde policies” has come to an end and that he hopes “new people who come to those positions will have a different approach to BiH and its path towards Euro-Atlantic integration,” Dodik responded that serious people, after exchanging a single sentence with Helez, know whom he represents and how abnormal BiH is.
“It is not surprising, given his intense affection for Branislav Borenović and his hopes that the subordinates from the PDP will have a say in Republika Srpska, because their political actions are based on the same framework of spreading lies and raising tensions. The fact that the PDP is a desirable option for someone like Helez says a lot about what kind of party it is,” said Dodik, who is also the President of the SNSD.
He stated that Helez can meet and talk to whomever he wants, but the reality is that the SNSD will win again in the elections, and the question is what will happen to him and his party after all the disgrace they have brought to the Bosniaks and BiH, about which they speak so passionately.
“Helez is not the first to prematurely declare my downfall and announce the outcome of a rigged trial in an unconstitutional court. This speaks to the character of the court and the process itself, but also to what the Bosniaks want. All their ideas that they will turn Srpska into an empty shell and, with the incompetent opposition from Srpska, create a new BiH are just empty dreams that will never come true. Republika Srpska has strong leadership and responsible governance that has preserved all the rights guaranteed by Dayton, and we will continue to do so in the future,” said the President of Srpska.
Commenting on the writings of certain media that Srpska needs new energy, that “institutions are not functioning,” that Srpska is supposedly on the brink of collapse, and similar claims, Dodik said that the institutions in Srpska are functioning properly and all obligations are being fulfilled, much to the disappointment of BN Television, the opposition in Srpska, political and media Sarajevo, and all those who wish for the opposite, which is why they spread such disinformation.
“The stories of an alleged collapse are part of the propaganda and are precisely timed for the pre-election period. We expect the same accusations from the same people to intensify in September. It is a group of incompetents from the opposition who go around shouting that everything in Srpska is bad, but they have no idea how to make things better. I agree that things can always be better, and that is why we work harder every day. Srpska is being built, we have created good conditions for potential investors, good roads, affordable electricity, and other incentives. While they talked, we worked, and we continue to work. That is our answer to the lies. And the citizens will give them their answer, just as they do in every election,” Dodik said.
