Helez covertly works on arms sales to Ukraine

Sarajevo is covertly working on establishing military-technical cooperation with Ukraine, despite a direct legal prohibition on the export of weapons and military equipment produced in Bosnia and Herzegovina to conflict zones, writes “Večernje novosti.”

The Belgrade-based newspaper, citing its sources, states that all this is being done behind the back of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which is the supreme commander of the Armed Forces of BiH and is responsible for foreign policy.

“Večernje novosti” claims that the key role in creating covert arrangements with Kyiv is played by the Minister of Defense in the Council of Ministers, Zukan Helez, under whose orders trips for Ukrainian emissaries to military-industrial complex enterprises in the Federation of BiH are organized to coordinate cooperation.

Sources revealed that BiH was recently visited by a representative of the Kyiv regime, Viktor Kruglov, who held talks about establishing cooperation with the management of the company “Guma co” from Bugojno, which, among other things, produces fuses for artillery and mortar shells.

“Kruglov expressed interest in cooperation with the companies ‘Unis pretis’ from Vogošća and ‘Binas’ from Bugojno,” the sources told “Novosti.”

The Belgrade newspaper recalled that Helez recently stated that BiH produces suicide drones at five locations and published footage of the drones, adding that Qatar and a former Soviet state are interested in them.

“Večernje novosti” points out that Helez visited all the factories of the defense industry in the Federation of BiH in the past two months and then went to NATO headquarters, where he stated that Russia should not be allowed to penetrate the heart of Europe through the Western Balkans.
