The President of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, stated that international actors are considering the eventual independence of Republika Srpska, mentioning that this was conveyed to him by Manuel Saracin, the German government’s special envoy for the Balkans.
“Saracin seriously told me during a meeting that he knows Republika Srpska will one day be an independent state, but his role is to make our lives difficult until that happens,” Dodik said to ATV.
Dodik noted that foreign representatives have recognized him as the epitome of a serious and steadfast political stance that remains unwavering in its fundamental goal.
“The fundamental goal is: give us the Dayton Agreement in what is our right and obligation. If you don’t give us that, then it’s entirely logical for us to defend ourselves from all this, and our defense is: give us a peaceful separation because we don’t want to endure your dictatorship and don’t want your centralized, unitary Bosnia,” Dodik stated.
Dodik added that international actors aim to destroy the Dayton Agreement and seize the property of Republika Srpska.
“This is why the opposition is agitated because they need to ensure that property is transferred to Sarajevo so that Sarajevo can decide who gets the rights to exploit the resources,” Dodik said.
He pointed out that attacks on Republika Srpska are also due to the wealth of its land.
“Whatever we do now, the Constitutional Court of BiH immediately reacts and allegedly annuls it,” Dodik said, adding that obstructions to the development of Republika Srpska are present daily.
