Dodik: On what basis do you think you can build BiH?

The President of the Republic of Srpska, Milorad Dodik, questioned today on what basis the Bosniak people think they can build Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) – on the hatred of the politicians they elected and on constant hostility towards Serbs, the Republic of Srpska, and Serbia.

  • “After 30 years, I thought there was no statement, attitude, or behavior that could surprise me again. And I was wrong. The hysteria, hatred, and malice that have been coming from Sarajevo for the past two days have surpassed everything seen so far,” Dodik wrote on the social network X.

He said he was disheartened by the absence of even a shred of respect and empathy for Serbian victims from World War II and the civil war in BiH.

  • “I will take this opportunity to ask all foreign diplomats in Sarajevo: How did you feel as people in the face of such outbursts of hatred? I will also take this opportunity to ask the Bosniak people: On what basis do you think you can build BiH? On the hatred of the politicians you elected? On constant hostility towards Serbs, the Republic of Srpska, and Serbia?” Dodik asked.

He emphasized that he has never hated anyone and that he mourns for every victim and empathizes with everyone’s pain.

  • “The wounds of my people hurt me the most, and I understand that the wounds of your people hurt you the most. So, I ask, is it possible that, after everything, we cannot find even a trace of empathy and understanding for each other?” Dodik stated.

He stressed that the participation of Serbian Army cadets in the commemoration of the victims of Kozara was nothing but an act of respect for all the innocent victims.

  • “It is shameful to respond to this with hatred and slander instead of empathy and respect for the victims who perished due to fascist terror. Think about this if you truly want peace and coexistence in Bosnia and Herzegovina,” the President of Srpska concluded.
