In celebration of the 200th anniversary of Branko Radicevic’s birth, a lecture dedicated to the renowned writer will be organized at Banski Dvor in Banja Luka on Saturday at 7 PM.
Two hundred years ago in Brod on the Sava, Aleksije Radicevic was born. It was only after living and studying in Zemun, Sremski Karlovci, and Timisoara that he translated his name from Greek to Serbian and became Branko Radicevic, with his first book of poems published in Vienna in 1847.
Today, Brankovo Kolo continues the traditions of the famous magazine Brankovo Kolo (1895-1914).
“We have existed for fifty-three years without interruption in the space of mythical cultural dimensions: Sremski Karlovci, Stražilovo, and Novi Sad. We have published 32 books in the Ijekavian dialect by poets and writers from Republika Srpska and awarded 20 prestigious awards, including Stražilovo and the Vartoshji Seal, to poets from Republika Srpska,” stated Nenad Grujičić, president of Brankovo Kolo.
The event at Banski Dvor will feature performances by Ranko Risojević, Nedeljko Babić, Mirko Vuković, Valentin Milačić, and Milan Raku. Additionally, opera singer Ivana Milinčić will perform accompanied by pianist Dunja Janković. Contributions will also be made by actress Olga Skerletović Đorđević and actor Anando Čenić, as well as poetess Danijela Regojević and Ranko Risojević.
