Vučević: Support for Srebrenica resolution does not contribute to regional welfare

Serbia Prime Minister Miloš Vučević expressed his dissatisfaction with Japan’s decision to support the Srebrenica resolution in the UN General Assembly, stating that such a stance does not contribute to reconciliation and the strengthening of good relations in the region.

Vučević discussed bilateral relations, economic cooperation, and partnership in joint projects between the two countries with the Japanese Ambassador to Serbia, Akira Imamura.

He emphasized that Serbia is very interested in Japanese investments in the automotive, chemical, pharmaceutical, and IT industries, as well as investments in environmental protection and cultural sectors.

Imamura stated that Japan aims to foster good relations and support the stability and prosperity of Serbia, and he thanked the Serbian Government for its support in bilateral economic cooperation, which he noted is becoming increasingly intense, according to a statement from the Serbian Government.

The Japanese Ambassador congratulated Vučević on his new position and expressed confidence that cooperation on joint investment projects in mutual interest will continue during his mandate, the statement added.
