Nenad Stevandić, President of the National Assembly of Republika Srpska, stated today that the announced resolution on Srebrenica will divide the world, noting that there is a large number of neutral countries and those who believe that this document has a political undertone.
Stevandić expressed that the resolution is targeted against the Serbian people as a form of punishment for not being part of the NATO agenda, adding that this has nothing to do with respect for the victims in Srebrenica.
He emphasized that Serbia and Republika Srpska are in communication with a significant number of UN General Assembly member countries that consider this an act of discrimination because, he claims, Muslims in Bosnia and Herzegovina under NATO patronage have been deemed more significant victims compared to Muslims from Africa and many other victims worldwide.
Stevandić clarified that the discussion is not about whether crimes occurred or whether those who committed them should be held accountable.
“Of course they should, but the fact remains that the approach has been problematic from the start, and what is worse is that Serbian victims have been completely humiliated. The difference between Serbian and Bosniak victims is that Serbian victims include women, children, the elderly, and pregnant women who were killed on their doorsteps, whereas the Bosniak side’s victims were military-aged men,” emphasized Stevandić.
