Republika Srpska pursues a policy of freedom, which is also in the identity of the Serb people, said Professor of Geopolitics Srđan Perišić, while guesting on Morning Program RTRS.
“In the last two years, the dialogue between Milorad Dodik and Vladimir Putin will mark the fourth meeting of the two presidents. The only leader who regularly meets with the President of Russia is Milorad Dodik. In its desire to isolate Russia, the West has introduced 13,000 sanctions, which has never been recorded before, and in the end, it isolated itself. All other world leaders, except for those from the West, have excellent cooperation with Russia,” highlighted Perišić.
He also commented on Dodik’s visit to Belarus and the meeting with President Alexander Lukashenko.
“The visit of Dodik to Belarus and Russia clearly illustrates the foreign policy of Republika Srpska. On the other hand, the foreign policy of BiH is usurped by the American ambassador, and therefore Srpska is forced to build its own foreign policy,” emphasized Perišić.
Perišić points out that pressures and attacks on Republika Srpska have intensified in recent years.
“They forced Srpska to seek support, and one of those supports is Belarus. Not only political support but also economic and commercial cooperation. It clearly states that Srpska has whom to turn to in the world, and there are also Russia, Hungary, Azerbaijan,” added Perišić.
According to him, Russia’s role in the Balkans is historical.
“On one hand, Russia protects Srpska, which has been performing this role in the Balkans for more than two centuries. Dodik is well aware of this and relies on this historical support, breaking through the attacks of the USA and the West that have targeted Republika Srpska,” Perišić mentioned.
