The Dean of the Faculty of Security Sciences at the University of Banja Luka, Predrag Ćeranić, believes that the unrest led by part of the opposition in Serbia, the destruction of property, and the attempted violent entry into the Belgrade Assembly building are part of a colored revolution whose sole objective is to remove President of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić and President of Republika Srpska Milorad Dodik from the political scene.
“We’ve witnessed this during previous elections in Republika Srpska, following the victory of President Milorad Dodik and the coalition gathered around the SNSD. The scenario is recognizable: election results are disputed, and protests escalate into violence,” Ćeranić stated to Srna.
He assessed that Serbia is under attack and infiltrated by non-governmental organizations that exert influence on the media, establish new ones, and find ambitious yet unfulfilled politicians who rally their supporters to participate in protests that invariably culminate in violence.
“Behind this scenario are Western powers, whose agencies monitor the geopolitical situation worldwide, and they are not pleased with the policies of Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić. These are policies of a sovereign state that decides independently on its orientation towards the West or East,” Ćeranić said.
He pointed out that the West’s assessment predicts that Russia and Turkey will manage relations in the Balkans, reducing Western influence.
“The aim is to create chaos in Serbia and bring those in line with Western powers into power. Certainly, this does not include Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić, nor President of Republika Srpska Milorad Dodik,” Ćeranić emphasized.
He believes that the accusations by opposition representatives in Belgrade directed at the President of Republika Srpska, Dodik, and the citizens across the Drina River are not coincidental, viewing them as a prelude to protests in Republika Srpska.
“If the unrest in Belgrade succeeds, it will overflow here because there is a network of NGOs and media, and they would shift the focus to Srpska. I think Serbian institutions need to prevent this colored revolution,” Ćeranić added.
Demonstrators and members of the “Serbia against Violence” list attempted to forcefully enter the Belgrade City Assembly building last night. After breaking the glass doors, they were stopped by police forces at the entrance.
They have announced the blockade of institutions and roads in Belgrade for today.
President of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić assured citizens not to worry, stating that the state is serious and will confront anyone seeing this as an opportunity to destroy Serbia and the electoral will of the people, which is sacred.
