“The trial date remains December 20 at 1:00 PM,” said the lawyer of the President of Republika Srpska, Goran Bubić.
The Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina has rejected the defense’s request to postpone the hearing scheduled for Wednesday, December 20, said lawyer Goran Bubić.
“They sent a response from the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina today. The trial date remains December 20 at 1:00 PM,” Bubić said, as reported by Srna.
Dodik’s defense sent an urgent request to the Criminal Pre-Trial Chamber of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the acting judge Mirsad Strika on Friday, December 15, regarding the court’s handling of the proposal to transfer the proceedings to the competent court in Banja Luka, as well as a request to postpone the main hearing scheduled for Wednesday, December 20.
Dodik and the acting Official Gazette of Srpska, Miloš Lukić, are accused of disrespecting the decisions of the high president in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Christian Schmidt, whose appointment is not recognized in Republika Srpska because it was not confirmed by the UN Security Council.
Dodik’s defense requested the transfer of the proceedings, among other reasons, due to doubts about the objectivity and impartiality of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
