“President of the Union of War Veterans of Republika Srpska, Dragan Vrhovac, emphasized today that the priority for this category of citizens is Republika Srpska, preserving its interests, and its protection.
After the meeting of representatives of this union with the Prime Minister of Republika Srpska, Radovan Vishkovich in Banja Luka, Vrhovac reminded that war veterans participated in the defense of Republika Srpska, sacrificing parts of their bodies for it.
Vrhovac told reporters that the Union requested from the Government that in 2024, if possible, the base for personal disability benefits should be equal to the net salary.
Our request is to attempt to increase personal disability benefits by 13.60% at the beginning of next year and by 10% by the end of 2024. This way, we would reach a base for personal disability benefits equal to the net salary – clarified Vrhovac.
Speaking about the healthcare of war veterans, Vrhovac mentioned that the Union requested specialist examination deadlines for this category to be at least one month. They also suggested that when creating electronic health records, it should be indicated that this is a war veteran who has priority with physicians.
Regarding the housing arrangement for war veterans, Vrhovac said that the Union’s proposal, if the issue cannot be resolved by allocating housing units, is to provide funds up to 8,000 KM, as stipulated in the regulation on housing arrangements.
We received a response from the Government stating that the public calls that have been announced and the rankings made from cities and municipalities throughout Republika Srpska have not yet been finalized – stated Vrhovac.”
