The fans of Borac organized a spectacular welcome for the players of the Handball Club, who became European champions exactly 50 years ago.
A cocktail reception and press conference were held at the club’s premises, after which the most passionate supporters—known as “Lešinari”—greeted the club’s legends with red-and-blue flares and applause.
The celebration marking half a century since the historic успех was attended by members of the golden generation, including Abas Arslanagić, Zdravko Rađenović, Rade Unčanin, and Slobodan Vukša. Also present were long-time club secretary Josipa Popović and former board member, now assembly member, Rade Radinković.
Exactly 50 years ago, the Borac team in red-and-blue jerseys, coached by Pero Janjić, won the European Champions Cup by defeating Danish side Fredericia 17–15 in the final played at the Borik Sports Hall.
